Today, we went toChina town and ate dim
sum.Dim Sum tasted a lot different than Hong
Kong's.
We went on a White Jade Tiger walking tour
and got to learn all about the role Chinese people, mostly from Hong Kong,
played in the building of Canada’s National Railway and the City of Victoria. It was very interesting to learn about Chinese-Canadian history. I liked China
town more than I thought I would. Our guide taught us how to play Fan Tan – a
gambling game, because in the book we read, ‘White Jade Tiger’, the main
character, Jasmine meets Keung in a Fan Tan gambling den. We actually got to
walk down Fan Tan alley. It is very narrow!
